She Was A Retired Supervisor For State Of Tennessee Child Protective Services Where She Served 36 Years. She Was Known As "Momma Loop" To The Town And Youth Of Monterey And To Most That Knew Her. She Was A Very Active Supporter Of Monterey High School Sports And For Approximately 25 Years Did Not Miss Attending A Monterey High School Baseball Game. She Lovingly Supplied The Youth And Supporters Of Monterey With Her Craftiness To Be Sure That Monterey Team Spirit Was Displayed By Whatever Memorabilia She Could Sew For The Teams. She Enjoyed Sewing And Entering Items In The County Fair And Would Always Win Ribbons For Her Entries. As A Young Girl She Enjoyed Making Clothes For Barbie Dolls And Baby Dolls That Also Lead To Her Love To Make Many Alterations For Prom Dresses. She Was Very Proud Of And Loved Her Grandchildren. She Was A Member Of Monterey United Methodist Church. Family and friends gathered for a Celebration Of Life Service for Fred O. King, age 84, of East Peoria, Illinois, on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Phipps officiated and inurnment followed in the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mr. King died at 3:40 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018, at OSF Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. He was born on June 9, 1934, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Roy and Pauline (Phipps) King. He married Lois Blye on July 3, 1955, at Creve Coeur First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur, Illinois. He was survived by his wife, Lois; children, Bob (Debbie Roe) King, Karen King, Dennis (Teresa) King, and Jerry (Dana) King; grandchildren, Melissa Bale, Jordan Woo, Cody King, Courtney (Rachael) King, Elizabeth King, Tim King, Ayden King, Brandon Wilson, Nicole Duckworth, Megan Mills, Michael (Jessica) Mills, Matt (Courtney) Mills; 22 great grandchildren; 19 nieces/nephews; brother, Kenneth (Anne) King; and sister, Helen (Harvey) Cummings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Rose Campbell. Fred loved his family very much and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He grew up in Monterey, Tennessee, and graduated from Monterey High School in 1953. He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 34 years and retired in 1988. He had been President of the Route 66 Watch and Clock Club in Morton, Illinois. His hobbies included trading collectibles and collecting antiques. He was a dedicated St. Louis Cardinals fan and had a love of gospel bluegrass music and fresh Southern Illinois peaches. He was a selfless man and was ready to lend a helping hand whenever he was needed.

Bonnie "BJ" Finkbiner, age 86, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 2, 2018, into the arms of the Lord to be joined with her beloved Husband, Martin Lee "Fink" Finkbiner and Son, Orville Buck. She was born on October 31, 1931, the daughter of Seth S. Stevens and Mary M. (Wilton) Stevens. She made her home in Tennessee after the death of her husband. She was a member of Monterey Free Will Baptist Church. She was survived by her children, Pam (Mike) Spillane, Cyndie (Wallace) Still, Lillian (Jack) Looper, and Cliff Buck. Her brothers, Jay Sr. (Sally) Moore, Orv (Dorothy) Stevens, Walter (Bonnie) Moore, 12 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren, with another one due this month. Preceding her in death were her sisters, Annette Lockwood and Irene Wolf; Brothers, Seth Stevens II and Roy Stevens; Grandson, Matthew Spillane; and a Great-Granddaughter, C.J. Buck. The following obituary was written by Mom (Bonnie "BJ" Finkbiner)-no date was found. Seth S. and Mary M. (Wilton) Stevens moved to Battle Creek at the age of 5 after the death of her father. She attended the old Joy #1 school in Pennfield from 1st-8th Grade. She attended Lakeview Junior High and Graduated from Lakeview High School in 1949. She married C. Eugene Buck in April of 1950. He preceded her in death on January 29, 1968. She then married Martin Lee "Fink" Finkbiner on June 21, 1975. He also preceded her on October 22, 2009. Charter member of Pennfield Presbyterian Church. Attended Dexter Lake Church of God and was a member of NACG. She was instrumental in forming the Purdy School PTA with Don Herrick. She was a Cub Scouts Den Mother and she was active with Corky McAllister in the Girl Scouts in the Early 1960's. She was a former member of Community Hospital Auxiliary, served as recording secretary member of women's of the Moose since 1972, had served as senior regions member of the Eagles Auxiliary since 1968 and served 2 presidency terms, 10 years secretary and filled several other offices. Member of the VFW 7956 Auxiliary and was treasurer for 6 Years. A celebration of her Life was held on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. at the Monterey Free Will Baptist Church, 311 South Elm Street, Monterey, Tennessee. The family received friends at the Monterey Free Will Baptist Church immediately following the services.

Larry Spears Officiated And Interment Followed. Mr. Dow Was Born On April 18, 1935, In Monterey, Tennessee, To The Late Lawrence And Maude Baldwin Dow. Mr. Dow Passed Away On Saturday, May 5, 2018, At The Pickett County Care And Rehabilitation Center In Byrdstown. Mr. Dow Was President And CEO Of Da Lo Industries, Incorporated In Byrdstown, Tennessee, For Approximately 40 Years. He Formed The Gospel Crusaders Quartet Group And Sang With Them. He And His Wife Started Their Own Publishing Company, Begley Dow Publishing Company. He Attended And Sang With His Wife At The Central Grove Baptist Church And Peolia Methodist Church In Albany, Kentucky. He Was A Faithful Servant Of The Lord, Good Family Man And Parent. Rev. Raymond Phillips And Pastor Steve Looper Officiated And Interment Followed In The Midway Cemetery. Mr. Looper Was Born On March 28, 1936, In Crawford, Tennessee, To The Late Talmadge And Portia Phillips Looper. Mr. Looper Passed Away On Friday, April 27, 2018, At His Home. Mr. Looper And His Wife Were Owners/Operators Of J&J Cash Market. He Worked With McDonnell Douglas In Monterey, Textron In Nashville, And Boeing In Oak Ridge. He Attended University Of Tennessee And Taught School In Davidson, Tennessee. He Was A Member Of Columbia Hill Missionary Baptist Church Where He Was A Youth And Adult Sunday School Teacher And Served As Deacon For Over 40 Years. He Was A United States Army Veteran Serving During The Post Korean War. He Was Survived By His Wife Of 56 Years, Joanna Phillips Looper Of Clarkrange, TN; Daughter And Son-In-Law, Angie And Rev.
