Mrs. Raines Was A Homemaker And Of The Christian Faith. Order Of The Eastern Star Services Were Conducted Wednesday, January 27, 2010, At 8:00 PM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Pastor James C. Johnson, Jr. Officiated And Interment Followed In The Whittaker Cemetery. Miss Wiggins Was Born On November 24, 1911, In Monterey, Tennessee To The Late William H. Sr. And Margaret Jane Whittaker Wiggins. Miss Wiggins Passed Away On Monday, January 25, 2010, At The Standing Stone Care And Rehabilitation Center. Miss Wiggins Was A School Teacher And Spent More Than 40 Years Of Her Life Teaching Second Grade. She Began Teaching In Rural Schools In The Eastern Part Of Putnam County And Later Taught At Woodcliff, Shady Grove, Monterey School And Uffelman Elementary School. She Was A Member Of The Monterey United Methodist Church. She Was A Sunday School Teacher, Communion Steward And Held Numerous Other Positions Also. She Was A Charter Member Of The Standing Stone Chapter #53 O.E.S. In 1931 Which Became Monterey Chapter Of The Eastern Star. She Was A Member Of The Green Pond Order Of The Eastern Star Chapter #482. She Was A Member Of The Delta Kappa Gamma, A Charter Member Of The Standing Stone Historical Society, A Member Of The Monterey FCE And Worked The Country Store At The Putnam County Fair For Many Years. She Was Survived By 2 Sisters, Margaret Tyson Of Nashville, GA, Elora Stringer Of Anderson, IN And Several Nieces And Nephews. In Addition To Her Parents She Was Preceded In Death By A Sister, Louise Thomason; Infant Sister, Nila Wiggins; And 2 Brothers, James J. Wiggins, And William H. Mr. Duncan Passed Away On Friday, January 22, 2010, At His Home. Mr. Duncan Was A Graduate Of Monterey High School. He Worked For Fish And Wildlife Management, Both With State And Federal. He Retired From The Tax Collectors Office In Little Rock Arkansas. He Served Our Country During The Korean War From January 10, 1952, To January 9, 1955, In The United States Marines As A Tank Turret Mechanic. His Hobbies Included Hunting, Fishing, Gardening And Helping His Wife Make Friendship Cakes. He Was Survived By His Wife Of 36 Years, Shirley Ann McInturf Duncan Of Monterey, TN; 1 Daughter, Carole Duncan; 1 Son, David Duncan; 4 Step Daughters, Lisa Gayle Youngblood, Debra Lynn Benet, Cynthia Kay Bedwell, Katherine Ann Healy; 10 Grandchildren And 4 Great Grandchildren. She Tutored With The After Hours School Program At Uffelman Elementary School. She Was An Avid Quilter And Taught Quilting Classes.
